youth @ first

The First ARP Youth Group exists to provide opportunities for middle school and high school students from the church and from the community.   We seek to develop and nurture a personal relationship with Jesus Christ through evangelism, fellowship, ministry, and discipleship for the glory of God.

Mission:

We exist to reach students with the gospel, grow disciples, and send them out to make disciples.

  • Sunday School

Join us on the 2nd floor of Robinson Hall from 10:00-10:45 on Sunday mornings. We'll be studying the Bible and how to apply it to our own lives. The Sunday School class is for middle school and high school students. The class is taught by a rotation of Cole McKinney, Eric Madsen, Elijah Hoyer, and Michael and Sarah Neece. We are currently working through a study of "Treasuring God's Word", part of the "So What?" curriculum series.

  • Youth group

Youth group gathers on Wednesday nights during the school year (September through May).  This is our large group gathering. Join us for dinner with the whole church at 5:30. The lesson for the youth is from 6:15-7:15 on the second floor of Robinson Hall. We are currently going through a series called Faith in Action a study through the book of James.

  • discipleship groups

For all youth - divided by gender.  Groups meet at various times throughout the week. Please contact Elijah if your family is not receiving up to date information on our DGroups or if your student is interested in joining a DGroup! The guys group is led by Elijah Hoyer. The girls group is led by Taylor Madsen and Katie Lesslie.

  • retreats

Bonclarken...a home away from home... Nothing is more beautiful than spending time in the great mountains of Hendersonville, NC with a bunch of friends and learning from God's Word. Both middle school and high school students get the Bonclarken experience each Spring and Fall, and have the opportunity to spend a whole week in the summer. Horizon, for high school students is the 2nd full week of June, followed by Quest (for middle school students) during the 3rd full week of June.

  • mission opportunities

Each year, all youth have the opportunity to participate on mission trips. Some are as close as our own backyard, some take you to the middle of the US, and others may go across the pond. Wherever God takes us, these trips are motivated by a desire to share the Word and God's love with whomever we encounter. Check out the "happenings" page to see what's next.

From time to time we record things for our youth or parents. This is where this content will be stored.
